How to make Firefox the default browser

If you have more than one web browser, OS X needs to know which browser to use by default. This article will show you how to make Firefox your default browser.

  1. On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu, and select Preferences....
  2. Select the Advanced panel, then click the General tab, and then click Check Now.


  3. Select Yes to set Firefox as your default browser.
To set another browser as the default, use the settings in the browser you wish to be your default.
